My Top 7 Autumn-Winter Lipsticks

It’s getting very cold here in London, for me, winter is definitely here. This time of the year is when makeup lovers pull out their dark shades of lipsticks, eyeshadows and nail colours. I love them too, just not daring enough to wear the darkest shades of lipsticks. For me, it has to be the dark pinks, browns and reds. Lipsticks are by far my favourite makeup product. Starting with this week’s post, i wanted to share my Top 7 Lipsticks for this time of the year. These include Mattes, Glosses and Satin finish.

Left – Right : Kitty, China Rose, All Fired Up

Model Co in shade Kitty was a lipstick I had received in one of my birchbox it wasn’t a colour I was too keen on trying, as it seemed to light for my complexion. It took me a while to give it a try. When I did , I fell in love with this colour. It’s such a pretty pink-brown . It is creamy in texture. It not very long lasting sadly, but a  beautiful colour to have. Being so light and moisturising I do not mind having to reapply it, as it does not dry out the lips.Collections Lasting Colour Lipstick China Rose, a lipstick that I have been drawn to the most lately. It was such a favourite in the month of October . China Rose is by far the most creamy and easy to apply lipstick I have ever owned. China Rose is very moisturising.  This is a long lasting lipstick. Coming to reds, MAC All Fired Up , the only red lipstick I own. I think the only red lipstick I need. A colour I stayed away from for a very long time. Finally, when I did give it a go, it was a colour I loved. All Fired Up is the perfect red you could have. A very long lasting colour, does not bleed, does not stain and does not dry my lips. What more could I ask for from a red lipstick?.

Left – Right : Intimacy, Angel Food Cake, Zurich, Cannes

Lord & Berry Maxi Matte Crayon Lipstick in shade Intimacy. Intimacy is well pigmented. Being a crayon lipstick, it does feel like you just filling your lips in with a lipliner, but gives you great results of a lipstick. It’s really easy to apply. Being matte in texture, it can be a bit drying. So I do need to exfoliate my lips and make sure they well moisturised before I apply it. Once that’s out of the way Intimacy glides on with ease and sits pretty for hours. NYX Butter Gloss in Angel food Cake a lip gloss for every lipgloss hoarder. The two words Butter Gloss should be taken seriously as that is what this lipgloss defines. Angel Food Cake is silky smooth, does not leave your lips feeling sticky. This is my go-to for days when I don’t prefer a matte lip. As you can see, its such a pretty colour too. NYX Soft Lip Cream in Zurich is a rosy nude with coral undertones. It is lighter in colour when applied to the lips. I usually wouldn’t pick a shade this light, but it’s too pretty to let go. This would make a great everyday nude. Being NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, it’s super long lasting, nowhere close to drying. Soft on the lips, and easy to apply. Such a great all rounder. Saving the best for the last another NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in CannesMy favourite amongst this collection. This is a darker shade to Zurich. Such a flattering colour. Can easily be worn for any occasion. A lip colour I always get compliments on. The Matte Lip creams were well named. Perfect matte which is so creamy on the lips. the creamiest matte I have tried.

  1. The NYX soft matte lip cremes are truly amazing! MAC All Fired Up sounds like a red that I need!

  2. Although in previous years I’ve been all about the berry lip as soon as autumn hits, this year I’m definitely favouring the pinky brown tones and other more neutral shades- they’re just so much more wearable and always look chic! Thanks for the suggestions!
