Current Skincare Essentials

When it comes to skincare, it’s a routine I love , yet don’t follow religiously. I have oily skin, with dry patches every now and then. Usually, on my chin and around my mouth area tends to get really dry. I do not suffer from acne, just a spot now and then (That’s when you know I have eaten a lot of oily food lately) Since I don’t struggle much with my skin I prefer to keep it as simple as possible. Face wash, some moisturizer, and a face mask once a week (I try). Reading my previous posts on Skin Care, you would know most of my skincare products are what I get in my Birchbox. I don’t use a serum, toner and the other extras you get. If I get one of these extras in my Birchbox, Yes I will give it a try, but I wouldn’t go out to buy myself a serum or toner. So keeping it simple these are the three products I have been using a little too much lately. Caudalie Micellar Cleansing Water, Elemis Hydra-Boost Day Cream , Balance Me Radiance Face Mask, and Ayres Body Butter.

Caudalie Micellar Cleansing Water
Micellar Water, is the best skin care product ever created. I am a huge fan of Micellar water. I usually use Garnier Micellar water, but since I got the Caudalie in my birch box a few months ago, I have been switching between the two. Am not going to lie, they both do exactly the same thing. The difference is Caudalie has a bit of a fragrance which I love. It has Organic Grape water and Chamomile. After an all day of makeup on, all I need it something gentle to get all the makeup and dirt off my face as quick as possible, leaving me feeling fresh. This is what the Caudalie Micellar water does.

Balance Me Radiance Face Mask
I love face mask, it’s just so relaxing. The Radiance Face Mask is a triple action mask with Kaolin Clay, gently polishing Walnut Shells, and Fruit Acids designed to cleanse, exfoliate and brighten skin- Basically a One-Step Facial I would say. When I first used this, it did feel a bit itchy on the skin, guess that was due to the clay in the mask. I apply this mask and let it sit and work its magic for about 10 minutes till it dries. The tubes says to wipes away with a damp cloth, however, I don’t do that. I slightly wet it again and massage it into the skin which helps the cleansing a bit more and also exfoliates my skin. This leaves my skin feeling so soft and well cleansed. It doesn’t leave your skin feeling over cleansed and dry.

Elemis Hydra-Boost Day Cream
This is a lightweight cream which simply sinks into the skin giving you soft and well-moisturized skin . Having oily skin, moisturizers can tend to be a bit annoying as they add onto the oiliness. But this doesn’t make me looking greasy, instead, sinks in really well giving a smooth finish. It does have a bit of a fragrance to it. which adds to the beauty of it. This works great on my dry patches.

Ayres Body Butter
A body butter I use for my face. This is the perfect night cream, at times I do tend to use it during the day too. It is thicker in consistency, but when applied to your face it simply melts in and gives you smooth, soft and beautiful skin. This works super well for dry skin. When my dry patches get out of control, I apply this at night before I go to bed, and leave it on all night. It works an excellent base for your makeup too. It’s even paraben-free, which makes it even better for your skin.

Have you tried any of these products? Would like to know what are your thoughts on them.
